HOTEL
Indulge your senses in the beautiful, multi-award-winning Friedrichsruh Resort, a destination steeped in impressive history. Once a romantic hunting lodge – today a place of wonderful cuisine and one of the best German wellness resorts and beautiful hideaways. The luxurious property, which is idyllically located in “Hohenlohe” in the South of Germany, is surrounded by a beautiful 44.000m² park scenery.
It all started in the early 17th century, when Graf Kraft VI. zu Hohenlohe established a substantial animal park with a hunting lodge nestled between Platzhof and Zweiflingen. However, the turmoil of the Thirty Years' War saw these properties change hands among local courts. By 1712, Graf Friedrich II, who would later be titled Prince of Hohenlohe, embarked on constructing the hunting lodge known as Friedrichsruhe. A significant transformation occurred in 1738 when part of the castle grounds was converted into a pleasure garden, leading to the clearance of a large section of the animal park for agricultural settlement, thus founding the area initially called "Tiergarten," later renamed "Friedrichsruhe" in 1750.
The mid-20th century marked a new era for Friedrichsruhe, with the establishment of the "Waldhotel Friedrichsruhe" in 1953. Over the following decades, the hotel expanded significantly and transformed the Hunting Lodge into a hotel in 1969.
The 5-star superior Wald & Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe is a stronghold of indulgence! Fantastically situated in the idyllic Hohenlohe countryside, it delights guests from all over the world!
